http://1drv.ms/1mTlCwZwZ This link goes to the pictures of the boat from start to finished!
This is the photo of the finished project that took us 5.5 months to complete. The trailer looks new and the boat looks new. This is a complete remodel project there is not one thing on the trailer that did not need to be fixed.
The trailer was bought in Georgia brought to have it sand blasted and soon as it was sandblasted. Tony and I picked it up and painted it ourselves.
The stripes on the trailer were done by Tony himself.
The roller brackets had to be replaced to hold the boat, the ones that were on it would not hold the weight of the boat.
The rollers had to be replaced with bigger rollers that were self guiding rollers to help make it easier to line up this 16 foot Boat from the water onto the trailer.
The wood slats had to be bought new and covered with marine carpet to protect both the wood itself and the boat from scratches once on the trailer.
The wiring of the trailer was done by Tony as were the lights on the trailer.
The trailer had to be customized to make it fit the boat better. So, Tony had to weld on the metal steps on either side of the wheels. The back light brackets were too wide so they were cut off and re-welded on to fit the look that we wanted while customizing this trailer the way we needed it to look. The front of the trailer needed a new look all together. Tony completely built the front where the trailer and the boat meet to be hooked up and locked in for safety. There was not one thing on the trailer that did not have to be either replaced or made from scratch. Thank God Tony is very good at welding and knowing the way everything had to be made on the trailer to carry our Boat safely and look good all at the same time. The wheels and tires were bought brand new and put onto the trailer, the ones that were on the trailer were too small and these are size 14 the biggest we could get on the trailer. Not to mention how good they look on the trailer! Thats the trailer now the rest of this project is the boat itself. Which I will write about in a separate post.
